AHA is governed by an Assembly of Trustees, whose members determine AHA’s general policy and ensure quality and accountability both to affected populations and to donors. The Trustees appoint a Board of Directors, which set strategic priorities and monitor and evaluate performances, standards and results.

Head Office

Located in Addis Abeba , Ethiopia, AHA’s Head Office provides professional and technical support to the country programs, and keeps activities on target and within budget through stringent supervision and regular monitoring. It continuously solicits feedback from its target groups and partners and conducts regular programe evaluations in collaboration with its associates.

Country Office

AHA conducts its activities through decentralised country-based structures. Its country offices identify activities, develop strategies and budgets, and oversee programe implementation. AHA is presently registered as a non-profit organisation in 16 countries: Algeria, Angola, Burundi, Chad, DRC, Ethiopia, Geuinea-Conakry, Liberia, Namibia, Niger, Rwanda, Seierra Leone, Somalia, Sundan, Uganda  and Zambia.

AHA International Status

AHA has become an NGO with Special Consultative Status to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC).

AHA is a member of ICVA and the ALNAP and SPHERE networks.
